COGNITIVE fosters KNOWLEDGE & UNDERSTANDING

SPEFL-SC’s Approach

*SPEFL-SC sessions emphasize the cognitive benefits of movement, recognizing the body as integral to the learning process and providing an embodied learning environment. Embodied learning suggests that learning occurs through physical engagement and practice, not solely through the acquisition and comprehension of information. These activities enable students to identify situations, evaluate, reflect, analyze, and solve problems through responsible decision-making. SPEFL-SC sessions encourage active participation and foster understanding of the body while promoting activities that enhance cognition THROUGH bodily engagement.

*Dynamic Learning and Cognitive Games sessions offer activities designed to boost cognitive function. Brain gyms, another key feature of SPEFL-SC sessions, encourage contralateral movement to enhance cognition.

*SPEFL-SC sessions focus on neuroplasticity, the brain’s capacity to adapt to environmental changes by forming new neural connections, mastering new skills, and retaining memories and information over time.

*Rhythmic literacy, facilitated by custom music in each session, enhances pattern recognition. Rhythmic literacy entails the ability to observe, control, and adapt to the rhythm of actions based on environmental demands.

*Coach video lessons on various aspects of health and hygiene are presented to impart knowledge about the human body, its functions, and its intricate design, inspiring students to understand themselves on physical, emotional, and intellectual levels.

*Gender equality is promoted by treating male and female learners equally and sensitizing the entire student population to shared roles in daily functioning.
